Strikes and the economy

South Africa has been hit by a number of protracted strikes ranging from the wildcat ones in the mining industry to the recent truck drivers demanding decent wages from their employers. The strikes have been criticised for turning violent and also having a devastating effects on the economy. We spoke to Cape Chamber of Commerce president Micheal Bargraim about the effect of these strikes on the economy, business and investor confidence.
