Sonke Gender Justice Network together with Just Detention International have submitted a report to the Potfolio Committee pn Correctional Services regarding the Correctional Services 2011/2012 annual report. This after the Judicial Inspectorate of Correctional Services tabled a report which states that the department owes over 1 billion rand in damages to inmates and former prisoners for bodily harm and sexual assualt.
