Economists blasts president's salary freeze
Last week President Jacob Zuma called on executives and directors in the public and private sector to to freeze their salaries and bonuses for a year as a "signal for commitment to guide an equitable economy." This as the country is under pressure economically and this is also a solidarity measure at the country is currently plagued with wildcat strikes in the mining sector. Economist Dawie Roodt spoke to us about the impracticality of the plan, the affects it will have and that it wouldn't materialise.
