Ruhal Ahmed

Ruhal Ahmed visited the Bush Radio studio’s to tell us his story behind the docu-drama “Road to Guantanamo” where his experiences as a detainee are shared. Ruhal who with friends is on their way to a wedding in Pakistan. The young men decide to visit Afghanistan to kill time before the wedding and end up being captured and detained for two years at Guantanamo Bay.

Friends of Vista Nova

We had an interview with Sandy from Friends of Vista Nova. The purpose of Friends of Vista Nova is to raise the necessary funds for the effective operation and maintenance of Vista Nova School. The organisation undertakes Corporate Social Investment fundraising drives, special events and mail appeals to raise the necessary funds needed for the school.

An exhibition which centre's on the struggle against apartheid called "Breaking the Silence-A Luta Continua" will be shown at the Iziko Slave Lodge. Backchat chatted to Shirley from the Iziko Slave Lodge to tell us more.

South Africa's "forgoten" child

Tucked away on farms in rural areas are the forgoten children of our country. These children are "forgoten" because there is no record of their birth, they were not registered when born. Bassie did what Backchat does best and spoke to Nicky Antonie from Help the Rural Child organisation to find out more!
