Today on Backchat we were joined on the line by Courtney Abrahams from the Emergency Medical Services. Does the name sound familiar? Well it should because Courtney and Leon were involved with the blood drive at Wingfield naval Base last Saturday. Recently the Department of Health awarded the Western Cape Emergency Services staff and Courtney was awarded the “Social Capital Award” for his work in the community along with Leon Mentoor.

We were also joined on the line by Agnetha Solomon from PASCaP Trust. PASCaP Trust is an organization that focuses on the task of enabling the development of community-owned after school centres exclusively in communities living in poverty. For more information you may contact 021 713 0754 or visit www.pascap.org.za

We also played a feature which was put together by Backchat trainee producer, Mikhaila Crowie. The feature was about Human Trafficking and highlighted the dangers of this vicious crime and what we could do to alleviate the problem. Remember to speak out! It is the only way to let your voice be heard.
