Help grandmothers learn about HIV and AIDS.As well as other practical skills.

We also had an interview with Vivienne Budaza, executive director for Grandmothers against Poverty and Aids project. The project started in 2001 October as a self help project in Khayelitsha .Gapa’s intervention has a two pronged approach .workshops are held every month for grandmothers were they learn about HIV infection and AIDS. They are also taught practical skills to avoid effects of the pandemic on households. The workshops cover a number of areas such as vegetable gardening, Human rights, Elder abuse and accessing social grants also business skills, drawing up a will. Grandmothers are also invited to join support groups
