IkamvaYouth
Today on Backchat we had an interview with Luyanda Kota from IkamvaYouth. IkamvaYouth is a community-based organisation that enables youth from disadvantage areas to access higher education and job-based training. Ikamva has recently achieved a 90% matric pass rate last year; although the results are a slight drop (Ikamva has achieved a 100% pass rate since 2005). The organisation has huge plans for this year. They plan to expand in Nyanga and are working with teachers at schools from Teach South Africa programme. The organisation is calling for more volunteers, so if you are interested, give them a call on 021 362 6799 or you may email them: info@ikamvayouth.org. For more information, visit www.ikamvayouth.org.
