South African Civil Aviation Authority
The South African Civil Aviation Authority one of the civil aviation agencies falling under the Department of Transport (DOT). The primary mandate of the SACAA is to promote and maintaining a safe, secure, and sustainable civil aviation environment, by regulating and overseeing the functioning and development of the industry in an efficient, cost-effective, and customer-friendly manner according to international standards.
They spoke about the global and South African civil aviation industry, which hasn't transformed. It has been more than 100 years since the first commercial flight took-off. More than a century later, global statistics indicate that women constitute less than six percent (6%) of pilots across the world. This percentage is even more startling when considering statistics relating to other aviation technical personnel, business ownership and leadership positions in the aviation sector.
