Inter-Parlimentary Union

Today we spoke to Nozizwe Madlala-Roudlege from the House of Assembly, about the opening of the 118th Inter-Parliamentary Assembly in Cape Town. Over 1,200 delegates including some 600 legislatures and a record 50 Speakers of parliament from national parliaments around the world and several special guests are expected to attend this event. The main theme to be discussed at the Assembly will be: Pushing back the frontiers of poverty.

We then spoke to Naijumumisa Solomons from the South African Depression and Anxiety Group. They are currently running a drug trial for Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis at centres in Parktown, Kempton Park (Gauteng); Overport (Durban); Bellville, Pinelands and Observatory (Cape Town) and Bloemfontein.
