Animal Rescue Organisation
In today’s show we spoke to Karen de Klerk from Animal Rescue and we have found that within poverty stricken communities, the general attitude towards animals is of two minds with a general worthlessness being attached to them. It is believed that children are rough when handling small animals, and need to be shown the correct manner to handle animals. For more information you can call Animal Rescue on 021 674 3661.
We also spoke to Peter Kratz from Men on the Side of the Road. We spoke about Tjommies a Men on the Side of the Road tourism project. The Tjommies will be trained to assist tourists and provided with maps, guides and season specific information. They will be deployed across the city at strategic tourism points to maximise their influence on service delivery. It is predicted that the Tjommies project will create an entry point into tourism for unemployed people and provide them with the opportunity to access employment opportunities in different segments of the industry. For more details you can call Peter Kratz on 021 448 9000.
