At an early stage in Aakifah's life she was introduced to sneakers by her parents, and in turn sneakers became a big part of her life. The one thing that really frustrated her was the cleaning of the sneakers, she then relied on her dad to assist her  in finding a cost-effective cleaning product for her shoes. And because she could not find one that was cheap enough and wont harm her shoes she decided with her father they needed to create a product of their own. They later teamed up with a local manufacturere and soon SNEEKERCLEAN was born.

“Being a teen ,young people are the peeps I’m constantly surrounded by, so it only made sense that they inspired me to create this. Because I face the same problems they do. The brand is less than a year old and for now we hustle hard to get the product out there and make its mark. We going up against established brands like Jason Markk, Crept and Sneakerlab… “- Aakifah Slarmie

Aakifah never thought she thought her idea would turn into a business and that she would receive support from others as much as she did.

Right now I am nervous and anxious as this is a “booming need” amongst teenagers and sneaker lovers. I may need to employ someone to do this full time while I finish school. ( lol… joking)- Aakifah Slarmie
