Rachel, Jasmine and Zintle |
Born Victorious Movement was first established in 2015. Their mission is to give hope to the hopeless, heal the broken-hearted and to inspire young people and women, to aspire towards their dreams through storytelling. Zintle explains that storytelling is very important as you get to learn alot from someone else experience. With the essence of storytelling, healing and inspiration follows.
Born Victorious Movement targets young women from the ages 18-25 years old. 2016 was the year they kicked off their first event and last years event was really successful therefore they are looking forward to this year's event.
They have heard of many different women problems and their first aim is to just listen to their stories, however emotional and heartbreaking this is the first way to tackle women who deal with problems on their own. Born Victorious movement has had many different stories all pointing towards gender based violence
When Asked: What is Gender Based Violence?
Zintle replied: "Any form of abuse against the opposite sex."
I then took the initiative to ask, how she thinks gender based violence can be eradicated in communities?
She replied: "When it comes to empowering women, we also need to empower men. The way to empower men, is to educate then about gender violence, and by empowering young men they will grown up and know how to respect and treat women."
