The Bird embraces AI and new beginnings with “It’s Just Begun”

South African singer-   songwriter Bianca, known   professionally as The Bird,   is embracing artificial   intelligence and new  creative possibilities with her latest single,  “It’s Just Begun.”

The artist spoke to Thomas Cedric on BackChat on Bush Radio 89.5FM on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, through a telephonic interview where she opened up about the inspiration behind the song, her recent visit to Zimbabwe, bringing her children into the studio and her decision to embrace artificial intelligence in her latest music video.

Written during her visit to Zimbabwe in March 2026, “It’s Just Begun” was shaped by the experiences and places Bianca encountered during her trip. She spoke fondly about several parts of the country that stood out to her and said she will soon return to Zimbabwe again.

The trip provided more than just memories. It became part of the creative process behind the song, which explores life, love, heartbreak, mistakes, joy and the courage to move forward.

The title “It’s Just Begun” reflects the idea that an ending does not always mean that something is over. Sometimes, it can be the beginning of another chapter. While the song draws inspiration from a very real experience, its visual presentation takes a distinctly modern approach.

The Bird has created the entire music video for “It’s Just Begun” using artificial intelligence. As AI continues to spark conversations about its place in the creative industries, Bianca is choosing to explore the        technology and see how it can contribute to her artistic expression. Rather than limiting her creativity    to traditional approaches, she is experimenting with what is available to artists today.

Her openness to new technology is also reflected in  the way she approaches music with her family. During  her conversation with BackChat, Bianca spoke about taking her children to the studio to record, introducing them to the music-making process and allowing them to experience the creative environment alongside her. For Bianca, music is not only about releasing songs. It is also about creating experiences, exploring new ideas and passing a love for creativity on to the next generation.
