From Struggle to Purpose: The Inspiring Journey of Lilitha Ntsundwani

This interview was held on Back Chat on Bush Radio, where we had the privilege of speaking with Lilitha Ntsundwani a young, dynamic voice in media, known for his work as a newsreader, producer, poet, and youth advocate.

Lilitha’s journey is one of resilience, faith, and determination. Originally from a rural background, he moved to Cape Town to study Chemical Engineering at CPUT. Like many students, he faced serious challenges from financial struggles and lack of accommodation to feelings of depression and uncertainty about his future.

At one point, he was forced to leave his studies due to financial exclusion, despite performing well academically. With no stable income and limited support, he had to find another way forward.

Instead of giving up, Lilitha turned to his natural talents. His passion for poetry, public speaking, and storytelling developed during his high school years   became his lifeline. He began performing, tutoring, and creating content, slowly building a path in the creative and media space.

His breakthrough came in 2023 when he received an opportunity to work at SABC. Despite having limited experience in news, he rose to the challenge and proved himself on a national platform. Today, he takes pride in delivering his work with excellence and professionalism.

Beyond media, Lilitha has also launched his own company, focused on community development, patriotism, and philanthropy. His work continues to uplift and inspire young people across different communities.

During the interview, he reflected on his journey with gratitude, describing it as a spiritual path guided by faith. He believes every step even the difficult ones was part of his purpose.

To close off the conversation, Lilitha shared a powerful message through poetry, encouraging young people to believe in themselves and reject limiting mindsets:

“This land is not poor but those who believe in limitation must reset their mindset.”

His story is a reminder that challenges do not define us our response to them does. Through courage, faith, and persistence, it is possible to turn pain into purpose.

Lilitha Ntsundwani is living proof that your background does not determine your future your mindset does.
