Eastern Cape hip-hop artist Dola is making a name for himself through authentic storytelling, energetic performances, and music inspired by real-life experiences. Originally from Komani (Queenstown), Dola uses his platform to represent his community while contributing to the growth of Eastern Cape hip hop.

During a recent interview, Dola explained that his passion for storytelling comes from his personal experiences and the challenges he has witnessed growing up. He believes music gives him a voice to express stories that might otherwise go untold.

Speaking about his single "Colonizer," Dola said the song represents his ambition to reach the top of the music industry. Rather than carrying a specific message, the track showcases his talent and determination to succeed.

As an independent artist and a Grade 12 learner, Dola admitted that balancing school and music has been challenging. He is currently focusing on his studies while preparing to release the official music video for "Colonizer," followed by more new music in the coming months.

Dola encouraged aspiring artists to remain consistent, share their work regularly, and trust the process. He believes that persistence, faith, and hard work are key ingredients for success.
