Urban LandMark publishes guide on urban land
Urban
LandMark has released a guide to managing urban land. Stephen Berrisford from
Urban LandMark believes that the recent demolitions in Lenasia are a symptom of
the inability of government to manage the land market around subsidy houses.
Research done by Urban LandMark shows that the title deed system has broken
down as a result illegal sales and corruption are able to flourish. This is
compounded by weak governance systems in municipalities and provinces and the
fact that members of the public are not educated and experienced in negotiating
their war around urban land markets, and so fall victim to scams. Stephen Berrisford paid us a visit in studio. For more info contact 012 342 7636. Or visit www.urbanmark.org.za to download a copy of th guide.
