Grow Educare Centers

 The Back Chat Show had a wonderful guest by the name of Helene Brand, from an organisation called Grow Educare ecd Centers.

GROW Educare Centers is a non-profit social enterprise, where they use a proven recipe for success to equip women to run 5 Star Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers that are also financially sustainable businesses.

The initiative was born from a deep desire among a group of social entrepreneurs to address the lack of access to quality of early childhood development (ECD) education in marginalized communities in South Africa.

The organisation was established over 8 years ago,working with woman who own pre-schools and want to run their pre-schools like businesses so that their schools are able to operate for many more years.

They have constructed a strategy  for an excellent pre-school that is financially viable were by it pays it staff members well and it can invest back into the education so that it is not too reliant just on funders and sponsor's, it can support it's self.

They have worked with pre-schools that they worked with directly those are Growth pre-schools and there are about 45 of them. During the 5-6 years of their existence, they have been testing out that strategy to make sure that they cover everything you need to run an excellent center, whether it is nutrition,curriculum the equipment that you need, thew training of the teacher's, learner's assessment's, budgeting and the infrastructure.

Now that they now that they see that it works, for them it's not about grow center's anymore they now work with anybody who owns their own pre-schools and they are an independent business person and they will collaborate with them and make their tools, systems and resources available to them, but they do not become another Growth Pre-school they stay independent. 

The requirements for them to help you is for you to have your own pre-school, crèche, kindergarten and it doesn't matter if you are not registered with the with department of education they will help you achieve the normal standards of education so that when you register your school it can be registered successfully.

They have an app called Grow Giraffe ecd it is available for any Pre-school in South Africa for them to use and it is free. With the app you are able to run your whole school on your phone, since not all schols have printers, computers or access to the internet but with this app you can do everything that is from admin, registering the learners, enrollment's, finance management and access free data online training for the teachers.

This organisation is incredibly amazing and their efforts for the future generation of this country is amendable.
