Dixtrict Six hosts Emancipation Day festivties

So the time has come for remembrance and celebration of the day the slaves were set ‘free’. The District 6 Museum will be having the annual Emancipation Day festivities starting from Friday evening 30/11/2012 to Saturday 01/12/2012. The festivities include: a premiere/fundraiser at the Homecoming centre, a live performance by Afrikaaps members Jitsvinger and Jethro Louw, a remembrance walk through town, a midnight picnic in the Labyrinth at St Cathedrals. We spoke to Tazneem Wentzel about the event.
