Vutha Ndlovu Ght, whose real name is Mawande Xungu, is a South African entertainer whose journey in the creative industry has been built over time. From appearing on Idols to developing himself as a musician, performer, actor and radio personality, Vutha has continued to find his place within the entertainment industry. His journey is a reminder that being recognised does not happen overnight, and today he is able to look back on the different stages that have brought him to where he is now, with a growing catalogue of music and an identity of his own. He was invited on Backchat for an interview on the 9th of September 2026 to share all about his music career and he shared interesting facts about himself during the interview.

Vutha has continued to release music and build his catalogue, including his latest release “kwaVutha”, featuring ABA, Ncane and uMavuso. He has also worked with other artists on his music, including a released song featuring Occasion, Danger and Abba. His music is now at a stage where he is focused on allowing listeners to experience what he has already created.

Although collaboration has been part of his journey, Vutha explained that he is currently putting it on pause. Rather than immediately looking for the next artist to work with, he wants people to hear and appreciate the music that is already out. For him, the focus at the moment is on pushing his existing music before moving on to more collaborations.

That confidence also comes through when Vutha speaks about the quality of his work. He describes his music as being of “thousand percent quality” and believes that his live performances are another part of what audiences should experience. He revealed that his next performance is scheduled for the 26th of September 2026, while other performances are being negotiated but have not yet been confirmed. For Vutha, listening to the music is only one part of the experience; seeing him on stage is something he believes listeners should wait for.

When it comes to creating music, Vutha's process is difficult for him to put into words. He explained that when he hears a beat, he simply listens to what comes into his head and allows the idea to come naturally. Rather than trying to overthink the process, he allows himself to enjoy the moment. An idea starts in his mind, he says it, and eventually it becomes a sound and then a song. It is a process that seems to rely heavily on instinct and allowing his creativity to lead.

Beyond music, Vutha has also explored acting and radio, making him an entertainer who does not limit himself to one creative space. His journey, from his earlier appearance on Idols to the work he is doing today, shows someone who has continued to pursue entertainment while developing his own sound and presence.

For now, Vutha Ndlovu Ght is focused on the music that is already out and giving audiences the opportunity to hear what he has created. With new performances on the horizon and a catalogue that continues to grow, his story is still unfolding. And if his confidence in his music and his stage performance is anything to go by, Vutha believes there is much more for audiences to experience.
