Zanoxolo is an emerging and versatile musician from the Northern Cape, steadily making his mark within Cape Town’s dynamic music scene. His journey into music began in the church, where he developed his foundation as a vocalist and instrumentalist, mastering both piano and drums.
While music had long been a passion, it was in 2023 that Zanoxolo made the decisive shift to pursue it as a full-time career. This turning point followed a life-altering hijacking incident that nearly cost him his life. The experience became a catalyst for clarity and purpose, inspiring him to fully commit to his craft and use music as a platform for impact and storytelling.
At the heart of his work is Mascandi Sundays, a platform he founded to nurture and showcase emerging talent. More than an open mic session, it is a carefully curated space aimed at uplifting artists, fostering community, and creating real opportunities within the music industry. Through this initiative, Zanoxolo continues to give back by promoting music education and encouraging artistic development among young creatives.
His growing presence includes notable performances on national television, helping to position him as a rising talent to watch. Despite this momentum, Zanoxolo remains committed to innovation while staying deeply rooted in cultural expression.
His message to aspiring artists is clear: believe in your abilities, step beyond conventional boundaries, and actively pursue your place in the industry. Zanoxolo’s journey reflects resilience, purpose, and the transformative power of music in shaping both individual lives and communities.
