The Back Chat team welcomed local seasoned award winning & versatile vocalist, Monique Hellenberg. With a strong passion for music, Monique completed her BMus in Jazz at UCT in 2004 to aid her path to a performance career in Jazz.
What inspired her to pursue this creative outlet was her desired passion for the art of Jazz and music, according to Monique it has always been her calling and she continued to follow it. As well as coming from a musically influenced family, that added to her desire to push herself to reach the heights within the music industry.
During the interview with Back Chat presenter Thomas Cedrick, she dives deeper into her collaborations, new single "Saw It, Wrote it, Got It", and many other accolades that she has achieved over the years. With the help of her previous studies in Jazz, it aided as a foundational push to pursue her Jazz career.
